Prudential was ready to update its security methods of identification. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is now the industry standard for verifying user IDs. Through extensive user research and multiple user surveys, we managed to update Prudential's user verification to the 21st century.

Diverse Computing provides law-enforcement software. For this project, I created wireframes and hi-def mockups for a vehicle license reader app, known as ALPR, Automatic License Plate Recognition.

HR360 provides a compliance resource subscription site and wanted their public facing website to be more appealing for potential clients. I redesigned the website into an updated and sophisticated look. The clean typography, white space, and sparse treatment of accent color sets a serious, professional tone while the playful illustrations and iconography keeps things friendly and human.

I designed the layouts and sourced the photos and graphics for the website and HR360's team provided screenshots from the subscription site. HR360 already had a brand in place, so I didn't design a logo or develop a color pallete. I designed the website in Sketch and used Zeplin to send the developers the mockups and specifications.

For NBC I was able to exercise my creative juices on projects for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Working directly with the Art Director, I created social media graphics, banners, and print materials. A branding style guide served as a starting point but there was a great deal of artistic liberty permitted to create eye-catching and engaging graphics appearing in social media feeds.

HR360 provides compliance resources for small and medium businesses, and launched a new subscription website focusing on workplace safety. The site provided documents, videos, interactive tools, and the latest news to help businesses keep their workplace safe. Working directly with the CEO and compliance experts, I crafted a clean and easily digestable library.

The website already had a logo, but it was up to me to devise a more complete brand and focus on the user experience. I developed the color palette, layout, and selected photos for the website that would use a CMS. I designed the website in Sketch and used Zeplin to send the developers the mockups and specifications.

It is always challenging to make text heavy and complicated material engaging and clean. I used ample negative space and color cues to keep the website readable and easy to use.

I've worked with FINO for Men for many years and developed a sophisticated brand for the mens' high-end barbershop by adopting a "less is more" aesthetic. With striking photography, clean typography, and a monochromatic colour palette with subtle steel blue hues, we've been able to reach FINO's targeted upscale clientele.

In 2015, FINO was finally ready for a website redesign. With nearly complete artistic freedom, I took an active, hands-on role in content and marketing direction. I designed and developed the responsive Wordpress site from concept to completion.

HR360 provides online compliance libraries for businesses. It recently launched a new site called Worksafe360, which focuses on workplace health and safety regulations.

Verus360, a FinTech startup, offered a fully online B2B funding product. I enhanced the "Invited User" feature and user data upload tasks, improving usability. Working in an inhouse team, my role in this project was UX Designer.

In order to approve a business for funding, Verus360 needed the business to upload their account data to the system. In some cases, the user would need another person, such as their accountant or colleague, to perform this action. The product would allow the user to send an email link to the person who could upload the data. We called this feature “Invited User.”

Users could upload their data from a cloud accounts package, such as Xero, or from a desktop PC accounts package such as Sage.

Verus360, a FinTech startup, offered a fully online B2B funding product, but would also analyse the company’s data to provide a "health check." I saw this project from start to finish.

I worked closely with financial experts, who decided which key performance indicators (KPI) to display for our customers. KPIs are business metric used to evaluate factors that are crucial to the success of an organisation. These were rather complicated data information to be reduced into simple terms.

Verus360 was also interested in implementing gamification throughout the process. I included the “coming soon” teaser to encourage the user to go further through the funding application process in order to unlock more KPI widgets.

I design and code emails from scratch and create MailChimp templates. Verus360 used MailChimp to send out their marketing emails and sent out custom notification emails from their server.

Design

For this project, I decided to keep things simple, emails are a great opportunity to practise less is more. There are too many variables that can go wrong in email. Emails are much more limited in development capabilities, and there are dynamic variables such as names, and in this case, logos. Generous white space and color blocks are simple ways to spruce up emails and keep them clean. Typography with clear hierarchy also keeps an email with heavy text clean and legible. It is also important to use default fonts that are on every computer. It is much more difficult to implement custom fonts in email.

Nutmeg is an online investment management company based in London. I was working in the FinTech industry and was interested in Nutmeg's different branding and use of illustrations.

Design

I was provided branding guidelines and copy text for the email design. I was inspired by the copy "Climb the ladder." I created a ladder using negative space. The leader is cut halfway, pointing upwards, conveying the idea of moving upwards. It very simple but graphically bold, with the strong green and white space. Below the ladder, it shows the user where to start, and the text "take steps towards" reinforces that idea.

For Verus360, a FinTech startup, we adopted a modern flat illustration style. It was challenging to to set the right tone, that wasn’t too childish or playful but still engaging and friendly. These illustrations were placed in an advertorial in the Wholesale Manager Magazine.

I updated Calvary Chapel Spring Valley into a clean, contemporary identity. The colored "lv" in the middle of the logo describes the church's focus to "light up" the local Las Vegas ("LV") community, whereas the globe expresses the church's global mission. The lowercase typesetting keeps things friendly and casual, similar to the church’s environment.

I worked as an in-house designer for the large church that had over 1200 visitors every Sunday. I produced mostly print materials and established consistency across the church and its child organisations.

I designed Classical Entertainment's new identity. The logo’s abstract bridge highlights how Classical Entertainment connects musicians and events together. Alternatively, the rectangles may be interpreted as digital audio bars, alluding to the entity’s specialisation in musical entertainment.

Classical Entertainment provides exceptional musical curation for corporate and private events. The company includes Bellagio among its clientele and is increasingly attracting high-end audiences. We decided that Art Deco, a cosmopolitan style from the 1920-40s, suits the Classical Entertainment brand.

Though Art Deco was a modern style, using geometric shapes inspired by latest machinery, it also borrowed from Classical (Roman and Greek) artefacts. Classic Hollywood era movies manifest the opulent style, while entertaining the public with music for the very first time. The ideals of Art Deco, such as the “classical” element, forward thinking mindset (with a respect for history), and the luxury of the Art Deco movement corresponds with the ideals of Classical Entertainment. The logo uses a geometric Art Deco font and the bridge also evoke the streamliners and ships from Cassandre posters.

I began a preliminary draft for an interactive infographic based on the concept of the Working Capital Cycle, which is the amount of time it takes to turn the net current assets and current liabilities into cash. There is a lot of potential for gamification and the infographic could easily become an expansive video game.

Verus360 presented this powerpoint presentation at the The Business Show 2016 in London, UK. The powerpoint plays with the title, How to finance your business – without getting ripped off by making the page appear to be "ripped off" onto the next slide as the speaker goes into more depth on the subject.

MEGA application provides resources for influencers and connects them with vendors. I worked on a team through an agency and my two roles in this project were UI Designer and Front-End Developer.

Nevada HAND is a non-profit based in Las Vegas that provides affordable housing. Working with an agency, my primary role was as developer, though I was asked to do a bit of design.
